Copyright on Humsunte
How copyright works here — what you can upload, how rights holders protect their work, and what happens when there's a claim. Humsunte is original-audio-first, which keeps this simple.

The basics
Copyright protects original work — a recording, a composition, a performance. On Humsunte you may only upload audio you created or have the rights to share. Uploading someone else's work without permission isn't allowed, even if you credit them.
Upload only what's yours
Audio you can publish:
Recordings you made yourself — your music, podcast, lecture, or voice.
Content you've licensed, where you can show permission if asked.
Public-domain or openly-licensed material, used within its licence terms.
🚫
What's not allowed
Rips of music, podcasts, audiobooks, or video soundtracks you don't own.
Re-uploads of another creator's work without their permission.
AI voice clones of a real person made without their consent.
Background music or samples you don't have the rights to.
📩
If someone claims your upload
Rights holders can report a track they believe infringes their copyright. We review every claim. If a claim is valid, the track is removed or muted while the matter is resolved, and you're notified with the reason and your options.
⚠️
Copyright strikes
Repeated infringement leads to escalating action on your channel:

What happens

Warning + the track is removed. A one-time policy explainer.

Upload limits applied for a period.
3rd within 12 months
Channel and monetization suspended.

Disagree with a claim?
If you believe a claim is a mistake — you own the rights, it's licensed, or it's fair use — you can dispute it. We'll re-review with the information you provide. Knowingly filing a false claim or false dispute is itself a policy violation.

Why original-audio-first helps
Because creators publish original audio rather than re-uploading existing media, most copyright disputes simply never arise here. We don't host rips, and we'd rather prevent problems than police them.
